Adium, too. Well, at least at my 1-year-old MacBook. Adium has never worked here (no idea why, since it worked fine at my deceased iMac), but I could still use YM once in a while. However, it often went off without prior notification during a conversation, which of course annoyed the hey out of me. And more often than not, it was lagging in sending out messages, both ways. This fact has caused my online conversations to be detached and brainless (er, not that they are normally brainfull).

First I thought that it had to do with our bandwith share (Syb's iBook has the main access, mine uses the WiFi), since Syb sometimes downloads up to three to five items, for hours, at once. But I was proven wrong, given the fact that YM at my MacBook performed the same when Syb downloaded nothing, or when used in public spaces with free WiFi.

I become tired of this (yes, after one year - I'm that patient), so I threw both chatting programs (YM and Adium) away and re-installed them, but to no avail. The downloading seemed okay, but as soon as I tried to operate the program, it went all funny. I asked our trusted technician at home *ahum*Syb*ahum* to conduct the whole procession once again for YM, but the result remains the same. Downloading appeared to be completed successfully and the program could be opened just fine. New appearance, hm, not bad – I thought. Then I had to change my thought almost immediately, because everytime I click a contact, it shuts off. Giving me this cheeky sign.

Then followed by this even cheekier sign. The nerve.

This is a desperate case. Anyone with helpful suggestions is most appreciated, thank you. Now please excuse me while I’m continuing an important work with a pressing deadline...

Di iBook-nya Syb bisa dua2nya, YM dan Adium. Dan kita nggak pake Speedy, tapi Centrin/Megavision (ama TV cable). Apa gue bawa aja ke BEC ya?

Hm..mungkin memang bandwith kurang.
Di kantor saya pake Speedy yang di share belasan. YM beta dan Adium suka bisu tuli. Jadinya saya pakai YM purba..lancar! Cuma no frills..ga bisa liat avatar, emoticon terbatas etc etc..
Kalau di rumah ga share kemana2 dan 3,5G (kantor dan rumah kebetulan pake iMac putih identik) lancarrr...

coba pake teknik jaman batu dulu. jangan pake bandwidth, pake sistem modem ke telkomnet instan 0899 itu dulu aja dulu, bisa ngga?

sama nih kasusnya... YM didn't work well at Macbook ya kayaknya... Jauh lebih bagus kalo di windows ya..

iya euy, itu gedung fakultas aristektur, tempat promotor dan para pembimbingku bercokol (aku sendiri dulu 'ngantor'nya di fakultas sipil). hatiku ikut runtuh bersamaan dengan runtuhnya gedung itu.. :(
